HAMMOND, LA–After recording a three-game sweep at Mississippi State last weekend, the Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team entered the national rankings for the first time in school history as the Lions were ranked No. 29 in the Collegiate Baseball poll.

Southeastern (8-0) earned its first-ever sweep of an SEC opponent after coming back twice from two-run deficits to claim a 6-5 win in Sunday’s finale. The Lions scored two runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by Trey Martin‘s steal of home that snapped a 5-5 tie.

The Lions opened the series scoring three runs in the ninth inning in a 4-1 victory before defeating the Bulldogs, 8-5, on Saturday. All-American relief pitcher Chris Franklin earned the win in Friday’s game before coming back to pick up the save in Sunday’s contest.
