ARLINGTON, TX–The hats worn by UT Arlington’s Jason Mitchell and Adam Boydston during their record-setting performance on Friday are headed to the College Baseball Hall of Fame in Lubbock, Texas.

Mitchell and Boydston combined to strike out 26 batters in a 14-inning, 1-0 victory over Missouri State, which tied the NCAA all-time record for combined strikeouts by a pitching staff. Mitchell started the game and had a no-hitter through 8-2/3 innings while striking out 18. Boydston relieved and whiffed eight in five innings. Mitchell’s 18 strikeouts and the combined total of 26 strikeouts set school and Southland Conference records.

The Hall of Fame has collected artifacts from outstanding performances on the college diamond in each of the last three years. The items will be archived and displayed at the College Baseball Awards Show in July, other venues around the nation promoting college baseball, and eventually in the College Baseball Hall of Fame when construction is completed.
