** Note – With another short week, CB360 has bumped up its weekly release schedule. This is a preliminary release of the Primetime Performers – check back later for full release, similar to past weeks, with photos, expanded data, etc.
A pair of senior Texas natives – Lamar centerfielder Anthony Moore (Cedar Hills) and Southern Mississippi righthander Scott Copeland (White Oak) – rose to the occasion during conference tournament week and earned top honors among the 15th group of honorees in the CB360 Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll. Moore has been named the national Primetime Player of the Week and Copeland is the Primetime Pitcher of the Week, while 15 others (listed below) join them in comprising the Primetime Performer Weekly Honor Roll, as selected by CollegeBaseball360.com. Moore combined clutch hitting (10-for-16, 10 RBI, 2 2B), timely power (3 HR) and slick fielding to lead 7th-seeded Lamar to the Southland Conference Tournament title and an automatic bid into the NCAAs. Copeland improved to 10-0 for the season with a dominant performance during his team’s Conference USA Tournament opener (8IP-4H-K, vs. Memphis) before coming out of the bullpen to quiet Rice’s red-hot offense and pick up his 12th win in the title-game showdown with the top-seeded Owls (4.1IP-2BB-3K-15BF).
