Barnstorming Titans Face Challenging Slate…

Cal State Fullerton has unveiled its 2011 college baseball schedule. The Titans are set to play 26 home games and 30 road games next spring, with 24 of their match-ups coming in Big West Conference play.

Fullerton opens the season on February 18 at Long Beach State and then hosts both the Dirtbags and North Carolina the following day on its home turf at Goodwin Field. They go back to Long Beach State again on Feb. 20. The only previous meetings with the Tar Heels came at the 2006 College World Series.

Dave Serrano’s squad makes a big road trip the following week with a three game series at TCU, which is coming off a trip to the College World Series. After home games vs. Loyola Marymount and USC the Titans head to Baton Rouge, LA for a three game series with LSU March 11-13.  The only previous regular season between Fullerton and LSU came in 1988 at the New Orleans Superdome.  The series is followed by a single game in College Station, TX vs. Texas A&M on March 15.

The Titans play another 2010 CWS team when they welcome Arizona State to Goodwin Field March 22 and 23 for the DeMarini West Coast Challenge. They play a home and home series with 2010 CWS runner-up, UCLA. The home game is on March 29, with the trip to Westwood on May 17.

Fullerton also heads far west for a five game series at Hawaii March 25-27.

A trip to UC Davis April 1-3 begins Big West play. The Titans will also play Big West road series at Cal Poly, UC Riverside and Cal State Northridge.  They host Big West series vs. UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, Pacific, and Long Beach State.
