Michigan State is the latest Big Ten school to release its 2011 college baseball schedule. The Spartans open their season February 18-20 at the Big East/Big Ten Challenge in Clearwater/St. Petersburg, FL. The Spartans then go back to Florida for their spring break trip. They will play a total of eight games in 10 days in Daytona Beach and Winter Haven.

MSU will not see arch rival Michigan in Big Ten play in 2011, but the two teams will play a three-game home and home series. The first and third games of the series are at Michigan on March 25 & 27, while the Spartans host the March 26 middle game of the “non-conference” set.

The Spartans open Big Ten Conference play with an April 1-3 series at Iowa. Other conference road series are at Ohio State, Illinois, and Indiana. Michigan State will host Minnesota, Penn State, Purdue, and Northwestern in conference play.

The Big Ten Tournament is May 25-28 in Columbus, OH.
