After a wild Thursday in which nearly half of the CB360 top-50 games resulted in upsets, Friday’s action returned more to normalcy – as the higher-ranked teams won 68% of the games (26-12) involving top-50 squads. Friday’s other upsets of CB360 top-50 teams played out as follows (series opener, unless noted): #39 Mississippi 10-7 at #27 Auburn (series tied) … UC Davis 3-2 at #28 UC Irvine (10 inn.; series tied) … at Tennessee 5, #29 Georgia (10 inn.) … Houston 4-2 vs. #30 East Carolina (series tied) … St. Mary’s 12-1 at #34 Gonzaga (series tied) … at Georgia Southern 6-4 vs. #38 Elon (10 inn.) … at High Point 6-2 vs. #41 Coastal Carolina … and Fordham 2-1 at #49 Charlotte.

Several common themes were sprinkled across Friday’s CB360 top-50 schedule, with a grouping of thrillers decided in the 10th inning while many games featured complete-game efforts (in several cases, the starters for both teams went the distance).
UCLA's Trevor Bauer matched his career-high with 17 strikeouts, as #24 UCLA squared its series at #26 Stanford (4-1).
There were 10 games scheduled for Friday between CB360 top-50 teams, with two rained out and seven of the eight others won by the higher-ranked teams. One day after winning a 17-inning marathon at #22 California, #12 Arizona State added a more convention 9-inning win (5-0) to clinch that key Pac-10 series.
