The higher-ranked teams won the bulk of Tuesday’s CB360 top-50 games (83%; 20-4), with the biggest upset seeing Pepperdine run past #12 Cal State Fullerton (7-0). Two of the other top-50 upsets also came out west – Long Beach State 4-2 vs. #27 UCLA and BYU 4-3 vs. #47 Gonzaga – with Samford adding a 9-8, 10-inning victory over #37 Auburn.
In addition to the FSU-Stetson matchup, there were two other games of particular interest (top-50 head-to-head): #11 Texas A&M 15-5 vs. #42 Texas State, and #15 TCU 7-6 vs. #42 Baylor.
Omaha's T.D. Ameritrade Park - new home to the College World Series - welcomed nearly 40,000 combined fans for two Creighton vs. Nebraska games over the past few weeks (April 19 and May 10).
After losing two earlier games this season vs. in-state rival Nebraska (including an April 19 game at Omaha’s T.D. Ameritrade Park, new home of the College World Series, in front of 22,000-plus fans), #36 Creighton held on Tuesday for a 9-8 victory (“only” 17,588 witnessed that Jays win).
