Unbeaten North Carolina maintains a strong hold on the top spot with 28 first place votes and 768 total points. Oregon State received to first-place votes, while Florida State earned one.</p>
<p>Mississippi moved from 15th to 8th this week, while Kentucky also joined the top-10 by moving up one spot. Traditional powers Rice (9-7) and Miami (13-4) both fell out of this week&#8217;s poll.</p>

<p>North Carolina solidified its hold on the top spot in this week&#8217;s USA Today College Baseball Coaches&#8217; Poll. The Tar Heels received 28 first place votes and a total of 756 points in this week&#8217;s rankings. Fourth place Oregon State received one first place vote, while No. 5 Florida State garnered two first place tallies.</p>
<p>Arkansas, the preseason number one team, took the hardest tumble this week. The Razorbacks fell from No. 2 all the way to No. 16 after dropping four games last weekend at the Coca Cola Classic in Surprise, AZ. Texas (6-5) dropped out and was replaced this week by No. 25 Cal Poly.</p>

<p>The top eight teams in the final polls of the season are always easy to determine. Arizona, this year&#8217;s national champion, is No. 1, followed by runner-up South Carolina and so on. Kent State and Stony Brook come in with the highest final rankings their programs will ever receive at seventh and eighth, respectively. Here&#8217;s the full top 25 as well as the &#8220;others receiving votes&#8221; to close the 2012 college baseball season.</p>

<p>How much it actually matters is up for debate, but the final pre-NCAA Tournament college baseball coaches&#8217; poll is out. The national ranking was released within hours of the announcement of the <a href="http://collegebaseball360.com/2012/05/28/2012-ncaa-baseball-tournament-field-of-64/" target="_blank"><strong>NCAA field of 64</strong></a> on Selection Monday.</p>
<p>Florida, which received the NCAA&#8217;s overall number one national seed in the tournament, also received 13 first place votes and tops the latest coaches&#8217; poll. The Gators are one of five teams to receive first place votes in this week&#8217;s poll. The entire coache&#8217;s Top 25 is below.</p>
