Marquee Road Trips Set For URI…

Rhode Island has released its 2012 college baseball schedule. The Rams open their season Feb. 17-19 with a trip to Williamsburg, Virg. for a three game series against William & Mary. Rhody heads south again the next weekend for the Cougar Invitational at the College of Charleston. In addition to a game against the host team, URI also faces Xavier and Connecticut at the event.

The highlight of Rhode Island’s schedule is a March 2-4 trip to Vanderbilt for three games against Vanderbilt, which is coming off the program’s first trip to the College World Series.

The Rams make an eight game spring break trip to California March 9-18. The trip starts with a three game series at Pepperdine March 8-11, followed by two games at Cal State Northridge March 13-14 and concluding with three games at UC Santa Barbara March 16-18.

URI plays its home opener on March 23 when it plays the first of a three game series in its Atlantic 10 opener vs. Charlotte. Other conference home series are against George Washington, Xavier, and Richmond. Conference road series are at St. Joseph’s, St. Bonaventure, Fordham, and Temple.

Rhode Island also makes an April 27-29 trip to Tallahassee to face Florida State.
