Dayton Standout Does It All In Coastal Plains Game…

SwampDogs 5-2 10-inning loss to the Sharks in front of 4,668 fans in attendance for the final home game of the season for the SwampDogs.  The loss was the ninth in a row for Fayetteville (21-30/9-14) and officially eliminated the SwampDogs from playoff contention.

Roesinger started the game in right field and made his way to every position on the field before finishing up the nine positions in nine innings as the pitcher in the top of the ninth inning.  Highlights of the night in the field for Roesinger were throwing out a runner trying to steal as the SwampDogs catcher in the third inning and pitching a scoreless ninth inning, not allowing a hit and striking out a batter.  After working a one-two-three ninth on the mound, Roesinger left the game to a standing ovation and a huge eruption from his teammates.  The University of Dayton junior also left the dugout before the bottom of the ninth inning to acknowledge the crowd with the curtain call they were waiting for.
