Virginia’s Will Roberts fired the eighth of them Tuesday (March 29) in a 2-0 win over George Washington.

The junior used just 98 pitches to register 27 straight outs to pick-up just the second perfect game in ACC history, and the first Division One perfect game since 2002. Roberts struckout 10 in what is also his first career complete game. His gem was the exclamation point on the 2,000th win in Virginia baseball history.

In this exclusive podcast interview with College Baseball 360 Editor Sean Stires, Roberts discusses his night of perfection, including the near misses and the 3-0 count that nearly spoiled his night.

The senior earned MVP honors at the season-opening Big East/Big Ten Challenge after going 8-for-12 (.666) at the plate while helping the Spartans to a 3-0 record. He followed that by batting 8-for-11 in three more games in South Carolina last weekend to up his average to .696.

Eckerle’s efforts have helped Michigan State to a 5-1 record for the program’s best six-game start since 1964. The only loss came to 2010 College World Series team Clemson.

In this podcast interview with College Baseball 360 Editor Sean Stires, Eckerle discusses the start to his senior season, college baseball’s new bats and more.

However, before Munoz went to battle in the NFL trenches with the likes of Lawrence Taylor and Fred Dean he was a two sport athlete at USC. In fact, he helped College Football Hall of Fame Coach John Robinson and College Baseball Hall of Fame coach Rod Dedeaux each win national championships in 1978.

Munoz was on the Dan Patrick Radio Show on Wednesday (9/15) and reminisced about his time as a pitcher with the Trojans.
