Parenton

Parenton joins the UNF baseball staff in 2010 after three years at Jesuit High School in New Orleans, La. Parenton is a coaching veteran with over 20 years of experience at the high school and college level.

He started his career as an assistant coach at Old Dominion (1990-95) before joining the Mississippi State coaching staff for two years (1996-97). Parenton took the reins at Samford as head coach from 1998-04, before joining Florida as an assistant coach (2004-07). After parting ways with the Gators, Parenton took control of Jesuit High School’s baseball team.

“TP and I go way back,” said Laval. “He was at Mississippi State and, of course, I was at LSU. He went to Samford when I was at Monroe. He was with Pat McMahon for six years over at Florida. While he was there, he had the Jacksonville area for recruiting. He is a tremendous offensive coach and very good at recruiting. He brings that element and a little bit of calm to the coaching staff. He is very easy to talk to. He has been in the trenches before and has been to Omaha. Not only do I have a blueprint on how to get there, but so does he.”

Loveland

Loveland joins the North Florida baseball team as a full-time assistant coach in 2010 after spending three seasons as a graduate and volunteer assistant. Loveland will work with the catchers and the outfielders, as well as, serve as the team’s recruiting coordinator. Loveland served as a graduate assistant in 2006 and 2009 before joining the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2010 season.

During the 2010 season, Loveland took an active role in the day-to-day operations of UNF baseball, as well as, directly working with the catching staff. In addition during the 2010 season, he served as recruiting coordinator during the transition from Hall of Fame head coach Dusty Rhodes to Laval.

“Judd was a lifesaver due to me not officially being on staff until January,” stated Laval. “All of your recruiting is done before that with summer ball and whatnot, but Judd did a tremendous job. Even if he was a veteran and had help here, I don’t think we could have brought in a more competitive class than he has done. He wasn’t even going to coach, but with as good of a job as he did, I asked him to join the staff. He was going to be a police officer, but he changed his mind and I am so glad he did. He is making this thing run. He knows all the ins and outs. He is a good coach and I am glad he is here.”
