Cincinnati 2011 Baseball Schedule

Cincinnati has released its 2011 college baseball schedule. The Bearcats open the season February 18-20 at the Big East/Big Ten Challenge. Their three opponents will be intrastate rival Ohio State, Illinois and Michigan State. The event will be played in Clearwater and St. Petersburg, FL.

UC heads to South Carolina the following weekend for three games in the First Pitch Invitational. After a game at Clemson, they play both Charleston Southern and Furman in Greenville.

The Bearcats have a nine-game homestand that starts on March 4 and ends on March 20. They play a trio of three-game series in the stretch against Youngstown State, Cleveland State and Western Michigan.

Big East Conference play starts with a March 25-27 trip to New York to face St. John’s. Other conference road series are at Georgetown, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia. Cincinnati hosts Louisville, Villanova, Seton Hall, and Connecticut in Big East action.

UC’s Marge Schott Stadium will host the two-day Joe Nuxhall Classic April 12 and 13. Cincinnati faces cross town rival Xavier while Wright State and Miami meet in the other first round game. The winners and losers each square-off the next day.

The Big East Tournament is May 25-29 in Clearwater, FL.
