TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State director of athletics Randy Spetman and baseball coach Mike Martin announced Tuesday that by mutual agreement, associate head coach Jamey Shouppe is leaving the university.
“Jamey is a great Seminole and will be truly missed by our baseball program,” Martin said. “We all wish Jamey and his family the very best as he engages in other opportunities.”
Shouppe just completed his 21st season on Martin’s Florida State staff, having served in a variety of roles including recruiting coordinator and pitching coach, before adding associate head coach responsibilities over the past nine years.

“I am proud of my accomplishments at FSU. I feel that I leave today with the FSU baseball program healthy and the tradition strong. It is leaving the players that makes this so difficult. I have been blessed to have recruited and worked with so many great young men. Their impact on my life is immeasurable. Many of them have reached out to me in the last couple days. They are the reason I enjoyed coaching, and they will be what I miss most about coaching at FSU.”
“Florida State will always remain my university. I have absolutely no regrets and I am proud of my time as a Seminole.”
