How did you spend your Memorial Day weekend? While most people around the country were taking it easy, Manhattan pitcher Taylor Sewitt was working…and working…and working to get his team into the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

Sewitt pitched an incredible 22.0 shutout innings to help propel the Manhattan Jaspers to the MAAC Tournament championship and the automatic NCAA bid that came with it. That’s no typo either. He pitched 22.0 scoreless innings over a three-day stretch.

It started with a 9.0 inning complete game effort in Friday’s 1-0 elimination game win over Fairfield, continued with a 2.0 inning relief outing in a 5-4 victory against Canisius on Saturday and culminated with Sunday’s 11.0 relief stint that ended with a 3-2 win over Canisius in the MAAC championship game.

In this exclusive interview with CB360 co-editor Sean Stires, Sewitt discusses the weekend’s events, going to the NCAA Tournament for a second straight year, if his arm is ready for Friday’s game against two-time defending national champion South Carolina and more.
