U.S. Collegiate Team Faces Japan Wednesday…

The dust has barely settled in the three weeks since South Carolina beat UCLA to claim the last College World Series championship ever played at Rosenblatt Stadium, but several of this year’s CWS stars will return to Omaha this week.

Jackie Bradley, Jr. and his teammates celebrated a national championship last month.

South Carolin’s Jackie Bradley, Jr. will lead the USA Collegiate National Team in a game against the Japanese Collegiate All-Stars Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET.  Bradley was named the 2010 CWS Most Outstanding Player in the last college game ever to be played at Rosenblatt when his Gamecocks beat the Bruins 2-1 last month to claim the school’s first-ever national championship.

“It’ll be great. I can’t wait,” Bradley recently told Gogamecocks.com of his pending return to Rosenblatt.   The U.S. and Japan collegiate baseball series dates back to 1972, but this is the first year the two teams have ever played at Rosenblatt Stadium.

The U.S. is 6-0 so far this summer after out scoring Korea 18-4 in five recent games in North and South Carolina.
