Two Non-Conference Series Removed From Slate…

Fullerton, Calif. Cal State Fullerton baseball Head Coach Rick Vanderhook announced the Titans’ three-game non-conference series with the University of Hawaii (Apr. 27-29) and their road game at Pepperdine (May 22) have been removed from the 2012 regular season baseball schedule.

The series in Honolulu has been removed due to a Western Athletic Conference scheduling mistake that has moved the Warriors’ conference bye weekend out of the late April slot. Hawaii is slated to join the Big West Conference next year. Without the three games in Hawaii, the Titans have opted to remove the game with the Waves in Malibu and go with a 54-game schedule to accommodate a pair of fall scrimmages.

The Titans will play one non-conference game with Pepperdine on Apr. 17 at Goodwin Field. First pitch will be at 6 p.m.

Fullerton’s Goodwin Field will be the site for 30 of the Titans’ games this year. Twenty-four will be played on the road.

Cal State Fullerton will head to Nashville, Tenn., to play 2011 College World Series participant Vanderbilt in a two-game fall ball series Oct. 22-23, 2011. These two games will not count in the Titans’ 2012 overall record, but will count against their allotted 2012 56-game schedule. The Titans and Commodores have never met at the Div. I level.

OTHER SCHEDULING NOTES: The game time for the Sun., Feb. 26 game between Fullerton and TCU at Goodwin Field has been moved from 1 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time. In addition, Arizona State announced game times for the Titans-SunDevils midweek series (Mar. 27-28). Fullerton and ASU will begin each game at Packard Stadium at 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
