Wong enters his junior season on a roll in 2011.  The Hilo, HA native had the chance to leave his home state when he was drafted in the 16th round by the Minnesota Twins in out of high school. Instead, he was named a Freshman All-American in 2009 and then earned All-WAC honors last year.

Wong was also named the WAC Tournament MVP after helping Hawaii to its first conference tournament title since 1992. He wasn’t done there though.  After appearing in the program’s first NCAA Regional in four years, Wong was named the Cape Cod League MVP as a member of the Orleans Firebirds.

Wong was also recently named one to our Top 11 College Baseball 2B To Watch In 2011 list.

In this exclusive interview with College Baseball 360 Editor, Sean Stires, Wong discusses all those successes, his move from centerfield to second base, the new college baseball bat standards for 2011, and more.
