Second Largest College Baseball Crowd Highlights Weekend

The sixth weekend of the 2010 was a good one both on the field and at the turnstiles.  30.056 fans flocked to the new Target Field in Minneapolis on Saturday to see the first game ever played there.  It was a college game that saw Louisiana Tech down Minnesota 9-1.  The game drew the second-largest attendance for a college baseball game.  The largest was in 2004 when 40,106 fans saw Houston play San Diego State at Petco Park in San Diego.

Here’s a full look at this season’s college baseball attendance, courtesy of Tami Cutler of the NCBWA and Wichita State.
