The World Series is set with the San Francisco Giants ready to host the Texas Rangers in game one Wednesday night at AT&T Park. Both teams are stocked with former college baseball players, and it doesn’t get bigger than the game one pitching match-up of San Francisco’s Tim Lincecum vs. the Rangers’ Cliff Lee.
Lincecum is 2-1 with 30 strikeouts and 5 BB in 23 1/3 IP with a 1.93 ERA during the playoffs, while Lee is an amazing 3-0 with a 0.73 ERA, 34 Ks and just one free pass in 24.0 IP during the postseason. Lincecum won the 2008 and 2009 National League Cy Young Awards, while Lee took the AL Cy Young in 2008 when he was still with the Cleveland Indians.
Following are the 45 players on the 40-man rosters of each team who also played college baseball.
