New Mexico OF Among Nation’s Top Hitters

New Mexico finds itself in a place this week that it hasn’t been since before Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the moon: In the NCAA Baseball Tournament.  The Lobos are in the tourney for the first time in 48 years, and a big reason why (aside from the “Kick The Door Down” mentality of head coach Ray Birmingham) is Justin Howard.  The senior carries a .455 average into this weekend’s Fullerton, CA Regional with a team-high 72 RBIs and a 1.217 OPS.  CB360 Editor Sean Stires talked to Howard just after he and his teammates arrived in Los Angeles Wednesday night.
