Louisville 2011 Baseball Schedule

Louisville has released its 2011 college baseball schedule. The Cardinals open the season February 18-20 with games against Michigan, Ohio State and Minnesota in Clearwater/St. Petersburg, FL at the third annual Big East/Big Ten Baseball Challenge.

An eight-game homestand starts the following weekend at Jim Patterson Stadium with a three-game series against Toledo. A game vs. Morehead State is followed by a three-game set with Kent State. The homestand concludes with a March 8 game against another Big Ten member – Purdue. Louisville also plays a home and home series with Indiana to give it a total of six games against Big Ten teams.

Louisville makes a five-game west coast swing March 11-16 with a three-game series at Pepperdine followed by two games at USC.

The Cardinals open Big East play March 25-27 at Rutgers. Other conference road series are at Cincinnati, St. John’s, Seton Hall, and Connecticut. Home Big East action is against West Virginia, South Florida, Georgetown, and Notre Dame.

UL also plays a trio of games against SEC teams in 2011, with a home and home series against Kentucky as well as a home game vs. Vanderbilt. The Commodores ended the Cardinals’ season in 2010 by winning their Super Regional in Louisville.

The Big East Tournament is May 25-29 in Clearwater, FL.
