33 Home Dates Slated For Cardinals…
Louisville has released its 2012 college baseball schedule. The Cardinals open the season Feb. 17-19 at the fourth annual Big Ten/Big East Baseball Challenge in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Fla. area. Their opponents at the event will be Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan State. The Illini and Spartans shared the 2011 regular season Big Ten crown.
That event precedes a nine-game home stand that begins on Feb. 22 against Eastern Kentucky. Oakland (Mich.) comes to town Feb. 25-28 for a three game series, with the highlight of the home stand being a March 2-4 three game set against Pepperdine.
The Cardinals head to Tuscaloosa, Ala. March 9-11 for three games at the Alabama Tournament. Their three opponents at the event are Oral Robets, East Carolina and the host Crimson Tide.
A two game series March 13 & 14 against Ole Miss kicks-off an eight game home stand. Louisville plays a game against Ohio State and three game series vs. Ball State in that stretch.
Big East play opens at the end of the home stand against Cincinnati. Other conference home series are against Villanova, Seton Hall, Connecticut, and St. John’s. Conference road series are at Georgetown, South Florida, West Virginia, and Pittsburgh.
Louisville plays home and home games with Kentucky, Western Kentucky and Indiana during the season. They also travel to Purdue and Vanderbilt.
