Here’s a rundown of midweek results (March 27–30, 2017) involving teams in the CB360 Composite National Rankings Top–50 (as of March 23). Note that the Top–50 was updated the night of March 30, with four teams entering/re-entering the Top–50 (midweek results involving those teams also are noted below).

Some of the more noteworthy midweek results included a pair of SEC series openers on Thursday, as slumping [46] Texas A&M picked up a huge 4–0 win at [10] LSU … while another team looking to surge, Mississippi State, opened its rivalry series at [15] Mississipi with a 4–3 win (the ‘Dogs returned to the Top–50 later on March 30).

LSU was upset earlier in the midweek as well, dropping a 7–6 home game vs. Tulane. All told, there were six top–10 teams upset during the midweek action, with the other results including: at UCLA 9–7 vs. [4] Cal State Fullerton …UTSA 15–9 at [9] Baylor … Southeast Missouri State 6–5 at [13] Missouri  … and [28] Florida 4–1 at [17] Florida State in that classic midweek rivalry series.

The FSU-Florida matchup was one of a handful of midweek head-to-head games within the CB360 Top–50, including [31] Southeastern Louisiana sweeping a pair from visiting [49] Louisiana-Lafayette (5–4 resumed game, and 15–3) … while the day before, the #49 Cajuns had won a 3–1 game at [48] McNeese State.

The following six midweek games also produced upsets within the CB360 Top–50:
Western Michigan 3, at [33] Michigan State 2
Georgia Tech 11, at [34] Mercer 3
Oral Roberts 3, at [37] Missouri State 1
Rice 5, at [47] Sam Houston State 2
• at Purdue 3, [50] Kent State 2

Also of note: [7] North Carolina won a 7–6 home game vs. CWS defending champion Coastal Carolina (which has fallen out of the Top–50) … [30] Auburn won the annual midweek rivalry game in Montgomery vs. Alabama, 4–3 … [25] Stanford picked a quality 7–3 midweek win vs. Long Beach State (which entered the Top–50 later in the week) … [20] Southern Mississippi won a 4–3 game vs. a South Alabama team that has been on the fringe of the Top–50 and it expected to content for the Sun Belt Conf. title … and [32] Tennessee posted a 6–0 in-state win over a Tennessee Tech team that is a top-70 RPI squad and should contend within the OVC.

Here’s the full rundown of the Top–50 midweek results, which included a huge number of Tuesday games (38, with 40 total top-50 teams in action).
