Midweek Top-50 Scoreboard (March 3-6, 2014)

There were 42 midweek games played from March 3-6, 2014, involving top-50 teams in the CB360 Composite National Rankings – and eight of those games (19%) resulted in upsets, including two of the five head-to-head matchups between CB360 top-50 teams.

None of the midweek upsets knocked off CB360 top-10 teams, although four of the upsets came against the top-25: Loyola Marymount won 6-1 at (11) UCLA … (45) Western Carolina scored a boatload of runs in its 18-10 win at (17) Clemson … (39) Memphis was a 4-1 winner at (19) Ole Miss … and Sacramento State won a 2-1 pitchers duel vs. a (23) Fresno State team coming off its sweep of Texas A&M.

The four other midweek upsets within the CB360 top-50 included:
• at San Diego State 8-5 vs. crosstown rival (27) San Diego
• Toledo 5-2 at (30) College of Charleson
• Stanford 11-1 at arch-rival (40) California (non-conf. game)
• and UC Irvine 6-4 at (42) USC
