Mississippi State has released its 2012 college baseball schedule. The Bulldogs open their season February 17-19 at home when they hosts first time opponent Washington State in a three game series.

The three games are the first of an 18 game homestand to begin the season at Dudy Noble Field.  Games vs. Alcorn State, Kansas (2), Mississippi Valley State (2), Penn State (2), Memphis, Lipscomb (2), Connecticut (2) and Mercer (3) complete the homestand.

Mississippi State goes on the road for the first time when they travel to Hammond, LA for two games against Southeastern Louisiana March 13-14. They open SEC play in Baton Rouge March 16-18 vs. LSU. Other SEC road series are at Auburn, South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. They host conference series with Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Kentucky.

The Bulldogs will play intrastate rivals Ole Miss and Southern Mississippi at Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS on April 17 and 24, respectively.

MSU’s 56-game slate includes 30 games against SEC opponents and a total of nine teams that advanced to the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
