Nebraska 2011 Baseball Schedule

Nebraska has released its 2011 college baseball schedule. The Cornhuskers will open their season February 18-20 with games in San Marcos, TX with games against host Texas State, Air Force, Washington, and Missouri State.

The Cornhuskers will be back in Texas the following week when they visit Huntsville to play Texas-Pan American, Sam Houston State and two games against Northern Colorado.

Nebraska plays its home opener on March 2 against Nebraska-Kearney. That game is followed by a three game series March 4-6 against 2010 College World Series runner-up UCLA. A March 8 home game vs. Doane College is followed by a March 11-13 series against 2008 national champion Fresno State.

The Cornhuskers open their final season of Big 12 play March 25-27 at Texas Tech. Other Big 12 road series are at Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.  Nebraska hosts Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Baylor, Texas, and Missouri in conference action. The Cornhuskers will join the Big Ten in 2012.

Two notable non-conference road games have the Cornhuskers traveling to Kansas State and Wichita State. They will also face Creighton on both April 19 and May 10 at the new TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, NE. The April 19 game will be the first played in what will become the new home of the College World Series in 2011.

The Big 12 Tournament is May 25-29 in Oklahoma City.
