New Mexico 2011 Baseball Schedule

New Mexico has released its 2011 college baseball schedule. The Lobos open the new season February 18-20 with a four game series in Tempe, AZ against Arizona State. The Sun Devils are one of three teams the Lobos will play that qualified for the 2010 College World Series, with six games against TCU and four games vs. Oklahoma also on the 2011 slate.

The Lobos open their home slate Feb. 25-27 when they host Creighton in a four game series. They go to Las Cruces to play intrastate rival New Mexico State on March 1 and then return home to host four games with UT-San Antonio followed by a home game with NM State.

New Mexico follows that home stint with a trip to Stillwater, OK for a three game series with Oklahoma State.

Mountain West Conference play begins at San Diego State March 18-20. Other road MWC series are at TCU, BYU and UNLV. The Lobos host Utah, Air Force and TCU in conference action.

Ray Birmingham’s squad also has non-conference road games scheduled at Arizona (2), Texas Tech (2), Gonzaga (3), and 2010 CWS team Oklahoma (4). The four game series vs. the Sooners takes place May 13-15. In addition to the two games at Texas Tech the Lobos will also host two games with the Red Raiders.

The Mountain West Conference Tournament is May 24-28 in San Diego, CA.
