Oregon Baseball Suspends Serna

EUGENE – Oregon junior shortstop KC Serna has been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of team rules, it was announced today by Oregon baseball head coach George Horton.

Serna continues to practice with the Oregon baseball team, and his return to game action is to be determined.

Serna is not expected to play in the Ducks season-opening series Feb. 18-21 at Hawaii.

Serna also served a three-game suspension last season for another undisclosed violation of team rules.

He was recently named one of our Top 11 Shortstops To Watch in the upcoming 2011 season.
