Podcast Interview: Two-Sport Standout Alex Aurrichio

January 10, 2011

Columbia Baseball/Soccer Player Shining…

Playing one sport at the Division One level is tough enough, but Columbia’s Alex Aurrichio is one of a handful of student-athletes around the country who are playing two sports in college.

He’s also doing it at an Ivy League school to boot.

The Columbia junior just finished his third season as a goalkeeper for the Lions’ soccer team, and he’s now preparing to start another year on the diaamond.

Aurrichio’s power numbers took off last year, as he batted .329 with team-highs of 13 HR and 40 RBIs. He attributes his gains to Columbia strength coach Matt Herhal and personal trainer Britton Kelly.

In this podcast interview with College Baseball 360 Editor Sean Stires, Aurrichio discusses juggling two sports, his teammates, his two coaches and more.
