Podcast Invertview: Perfect Game Pitcher Will Roberts

March 30, 2011

There have been eight 9-inning perfect games pitched in Division One baseball since 1957. Virginia’s Will Roberts fired the eighth of them Tuesday (March 29) in a 2-0 win over George Washington.

The junior used just 98 pitches to register 27 straight outs to pick-up just the second perfect game in ACC history, and the first Division One perfect game since 2002. Roberts struckout 10 in what is also his first career complete game. His gem was the exclamation point on the 2,000th win in Virginia baseball history.

In this exclusive podcast interview with College Baseball 360 Editor Sean Stires, Roberts discusses his night of perfection, including the near misses and the 3-0 count that nearly spoiled his night.
