Rice 2011 Baseball Schedule

Rice has released its 2011 college baseball schedule. Wayne Graham’s Owls will play 32 home games in 2011, including a big season-opening three game series against Stanford February 18-20.

After two more non-conference games vs. Lamar and at Texas State on Feb. 22 and 23, respectively, Rice welcomes another Pac 10 team, USC, to Reckling Park the following weekend.

Rice keeps a Pac 10 flavor to its schedule when it travels to Tucson, AZ to take on the Arizona Wildcats in a two game set March 1 and 2.

The Owls will take part in the Houston College Classic at the Houston Astros’ Minute Maid Park March 4-6. The entire field for the event has not yet been announced, but the Houston Cougars are slated to play there as well.

Rice has other non-conference home games scheduled against Sam Houston State (1), Florida International (1), Dallas Baptist (1), Louisiana Tech (3), Houston (2), Louisiana-Lafayette (1), Texas A&M (1), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (1), Stephen F. Austin (1), and Texas State (1).

The Owls make non-conference visits to Lamar (1), Sam Houston State (1) and Louisiana-Lafayette (1).

Rice is also slated to play in the Cal Golden Bears Tournament March 11-13 in San Francisco, CA.

Conference USA play begins at home vs. Central Florida March 25-27. Other C USA series at Reckling park are vs. Marshall, Tulane and Memphis.

Rice goes on the road to play East Carolina, UAB, Houston, and Southern Mississippi in C USA play.
