The University of San Diego has released its 2012 college baseball schedule. The Toreros open their new season February 17-19 when they travel to Houston, TX for three games against Sam Houston State.
San Diego then hosts the USD Tournament February 23-26 with games against Pacific, Kansas State, Oregon State, and USC.
A headline trip to Nashville, Tenn. for a three game series against Vanderbilt comes March 9-11. The Commodores are coming off the program’s first trip to the College World Series in 2011. San Diego also plays two games in Nashville vs. Lipscomb prior to that series.
USD then returns to California to start a 10-game homestand that starts with two games against Indiana, followed by four games against Columbia. After a midweek visit from crosstown rival San Diego State, the stand concludes with three games against West Coast Conference rival Santa Clara. Other WCC home series are against Gonzaga, St. Mary’s and Loyola Marymount.
San Diego hits the road for WCC series vs. San Francisco, Portland, Pepperdine, and new WCC member BYU.
