Southeastern Louisiana junior shortsop Justin Boudreaux.

Boudreaux led the way for a Lions team that went 4-0 during the week, with the first three wins coming against CB360 top-50 teams: 13-1 vs. Tulane, followed by wins at South Alabama vs. Alabama (6-2), Central Florida (7-2) and the host Jaguars (6-4). The 6-foot-1, 190-pound righthanded hitter produced numerous clutch plays from the 3-hole – hitting 8-for-17  (.471) during the week, with a pair of home runs, 7 RBI, 6 runs scored, a couple doubles and 2 walks.

Southeastern Louisiana is picked to finish second in the Southland Conference (behind Texas State) – but if the Lions end up receiving an at-large bid into the NCAAs, this past week of results could prove to be a helpful resume builder.

Jungmann logged his second straight complete game – in a tight 2-0 battle – to open the challenging series at Hawaii (cb360 #36), which had taken a pair of games from #11 Oregon a week earlier (the feisty Rainbows went on to beat the Longhorns in game-2). Hawaii had averaged nearly six runs a game in the Oregon series, but Jungmann shut them out while facing only 31 batters (four over minimum).

Jungmann – who limited Hawaii to four hits and also hit a batter – kept the ball in the infield throughout the game, with 23 of his 27 outs coming via strikeouts (9), groundballs (10), infield foulouts (2) and a pickoff move (1). The imposing 6-6, 220-pound righthander set down the first eight batters he faced (4 Ks, 4 GOs) before hitting Matt Harrison with a pitch. Kolten Wong’s 1-out bunt in the 4th was the first hit allowed by Jungmann, who quickly erased the runner on a pickoff move. Hawaii did not place the ball into the outfield vs. Jungmann until the 5th, when Collin Bennett sent a 1-out single up the middle.

Primetime Performer Award Criteria (not based solely on raw stats, but rather …)

• Involved in clutch performances, such as late game-winning hits, noteworthy comebacks, game-changing plays, team leadership, key defensive efforts, etc.
• Performed at a top level against a team rated highly nationally (or within its conference), with bonus consideration given for key performances away from home field and vs. traditional rivals.
• Overcame adversity or extreme circumstances (for the team and/or individual).
• Any accomplishment that is rare, historic, record-setting, etc., on a national level.
