Six Top-10 Teams Upset – Virginia (at Clemson) and LSU (vs. Fullerton) completed series sweeps, leading the way for six teams that upset CB360 top-10 powers on Sunday. The #11 Cavaliers won for the third straight day at #8 Clemson, while #13 LSU swept away visiting #7 Cal State Fullerton (10-2). There were 39 games played on Sunday involving CB360 top-50 teams, with the higher-ranked teams winning 72% (28-11). Other upsets of top-10 teams included #21 Auburn taking the series finale from visiting #6 Arizona State (10-8) and USC winning a rivalry game vs. #10 UCLA, 2-0 at Dodger Stadium. Other upsets included: Wake Forest‘s 5-4 series-clincher at #16 North Carolina … #34 Nebraska winning the series finale vs. visiting #19 Fresno State … #31 Tulane winning its tight series vs. visiting #29 Wichita State (3-2) … Long Island completed an impressive series victory at #39 Kansas State (6-5) … and Sacred Heart completing its southern road swing with an 8-3 win at #47 Mississippi State.
Six of Sunday’s 11 upsets involving CB360 top-50 teams came in marquee head-to-head matchups. There were two other games on Sunday between top-50 squads – as #17 Texas A&M beat #49 Florida International (8-5) and #24 California topped #40 Long Beach State, 8-1 at San Francisco’s AT&T Park.
