With the end of the regular season on the horizon, many of the nation’s top teams have begun to scale back their midweek schedules (and quality of those midweek opponents) – instead opting to focus on the crucial weekend conference games and opting to rest pitching staffs for the key innings in those games.
Only one of Wednesday’s 16 games involving CB360 top-50 teams was a head-to-head matchup between CB360 top-50 squads, as#9 Louisville emerged from a wild 9th inning with a 10-9 win over #40 Kentucky (the visiting Wildcats scored 5 in the top of the 9th for a 9-6 lead, but the Cards answered with 4 to claim the thrilling win).
Note that the Composite National Rankings (CNR) have been updated and will be posted later tonight via the CNR homepage. The new CNR positions are indicated below for teams on the April 28 schedule of games. … There are three changes in terms of the teams that comprise the CNR top-50 – as Appalachian State (#42), Portland (#45) and New Mexico State (#50) are part of the updated top-50, with Rutgers, Baylor and North Carolina State dropping outside the top-50 in the CNR.
