Virginia Tech 2011 Baseball Schedule

The Virginia Tech 2011 college baseball schedule is nearly complete. The Hokies, who are coming off a trip to the NCAA Tournament, will open the season February 18-20 at the Coastal Carolina Tournament against three yet to be determined opponents (one would would likely be the host Chanticleers).

After a Feb. 22 trip to USC Upstate, Virginia Tech plays nine straight home games at English Field in Blacksburg, VA. The first four are against Niagara, followed by a single game with Liberty and four games vs. Bryant.

Va. Tech opens ACC play March 11-13 at Miami. Other ACC road series are at Boston College, Wake Forest, Maryland, and Duke. The Hokies host North Carolina, Virginia, Florida State, Clemson, and Georgia Tech in ACC action.

The Hokies will play a total of 32 home games in 2011. The ACC Tournament is May 25-29 in Durham, NC.

Head coach Pete Hughes has also announced that former Notre Dame outfielder Ryan Connolly has joined the Va. Tech staff as the volunteer assistant coach. Connolly led the Irish last season with a .335 average, 11 home runs and 38 RBIs.
