Mid-April weekend action has brought plenty more key matchups and series for various teams in the top-50 of the CB360 Composite National Rankings, with several series still set to be decided on Sunday (see below). Only one top-50 team, (48) Illinois State, has been idle from weekend series action (non-DI home game on Sun. vs. Webster), and most of the series of course are within the conference schedule – all except for UC Riverside at (15) Oregon, Morehead State at (25) Indiana, and Baylor at (36) Dallas Baptist.

Dusty Isaacs (Georgia Tech)
Seven teams secured series upsets on Saturday, including Georgia winning the decisive third game vs. visiting (26) Tennessee, 7-4 (also 4-1 win on Fri.). It has been a big weekend for teams from the Peach State, as Georgia Tech has clinched its home series vs. cb360 #1 Florida State, after a dominating 12-4 Sat. win (also won 5-3 on Fri.).
In a key Atlantic Sun Conference showdown series, host Lipscomb beat (38) Mercer on Fri. (4-2) and again on Sat., 2-1. Nevada similarly clinched its home series vs. (40) San Diego State with a Sat. win, 8-0 (after 4-2 on Fri.), while (49) TCU split its Sat. DH at (45) Kansas to win that top-50 series (3-1, 1-5; Frogs also won 5-2 on Fri.).
Louisville (cb360 #16) winning twice at (7) Houston (4-2, 3-2) does not necessarily feel like at upset, but the Cougars entered the weekend slotted higher than the Cardinals in most polls and other metrics. Another CB360 top-50 series upset that does not really feel like one is slumping North Carolina’s pair of home wins vs. (50) Wake Forest (9-0, 4-3).
An NCAA-record on-campus crowd of 15,586 was on hand on Saturday, April 12, at Dudy Noble Field to see Mississippi State’s thrilling four-run rally in the bottom of the 10th vs. rival Ole Miss, evening the SEC series.
Higher-ranked teams won two-thirds of Friday’s games in the CB360 top-50 (27-14), followed by a bit better win pct. on Sat. (30-13; 70%). Four of the weekend series involving CB360 top-50 teams wrapped up on Sat.: Tennessee at Georgia, TCU at Kansas, BYU at Pepperdine (the Waves won 9-1 on Sat. to take that series, after BYU had won a rare 1-0 game in the series opener on Thur.), and (36) Dallas Baptist at Baylor (Bears split DH to avery sweep, winning gm-3, 7-4).
