Wichita State 2011 Baseball Schedule

Wichita State has released its 2011 college baseball schedule. The Shockers open their season February 18-20 when they host a three-game series with Niagara. After a Feb. 23 game at Oral Roberts, they host a Feb. 25-27 three-game series against North Dakota. ORU returns the trip to Wichita on May 10.

WSU heads to the Lone Star State March 3-5 for games against Texas-Arlington, Dallas Baptist and New Orleans at the Dallas Baptist Tournament and then faces UTA again on March 6 in Arlington.

After a three-game set at Tulane March 11-13, Wichita State returns home to start a seven-game homestand. Arizona starts it with two games March 15 & 16, Penn State visits for three games, followed by two games against Air Force.

The Shockers go west for four games at Oregon March 25-27 and then go even farther west for a March 30-April 2 four-game series at Hawaii.

Wichita State opens Missouri Valley Conference play April 8-10 at Missouri State. Other MVC road series are at Southern Illinois and Bradley. WSU hosts Evansville, Illinois State, Creighton, and Indiana State.

Gene Stephenson’s squad has home and home series with intrastate rivals Kansas and Kansas State. They host Nebraska on April 12 and visit Oklahoma State on April 19.

The Missouri Valley Conference Tournament is May 24-28 in Omaha, NE at the new TD Ameritrade Park.
