Here’s a rundown of key midweek games for May 4–6, 2015, involving teams in the CB360 Top–50 Composite National Rankings – plus other projected NCAA Tournament teams (for conferences outside the Top–50).

The schedule was relatively speaking fairly light, as many teams are tapering back their number of games per week (while others took some days off for final exams).

The most notable results from May 4–6 included the following:

• [6] Louisville 5–2 at  [49] Kentucky – rivalry game added another feather to Cards’ national seed (top–8) resume

• at [13] Florida Atlantic 10–2 vs. UCF – Owls hoping to be regional host while UCF running out of time to be NCAA at-large team

• at Clemson 6–3 vs. [17] College of Charleston – Tigers have a long road to building NCAA resume but this was a start

• [33] Georgia Tech 9–7 at Mercer  (SoCon favorite) – Atlanta-area rivals and both likely 2015 NCAA teams

• at Southern Univ. 5–1 vs. [40] Southeastern Louisiana – puts a pretty big dent in Lions’ NCAA at-large resume

• at [11] Florida 5–1 vs. [47] South Florida – Gators hoping for late push back into top–8 national team status

• [12] Missouri State 8–2 at St. Louis  (A–10 favorite) – Bears steadily in the mix to be NCAA Regional host

• Cal State Bakersfield (WAC favorite) 5–3 at [14] UC Santa Barbara – UCSB has been slipping a bit lately

• [32] UC Irvine 8–5 at [19] USC  (10 inn.) – huge win for UCI’s NCAA at-large hopes (if don’t win Big West)

• at [22] Oregon State  10–2 vs. Oregon – rivalry game that likely finished any hope Ducks had for making NCAAs

 Southeast Missouri State (OVC favorite) 8–5 at [43] Missouri – Tigers also had lost previous two weeks to another in-state rival, Missouri State

• San Diego State 3–0 at San Diego (WCC) – both teams out of NCAA at-large range, but always a big rivalry showdown

• at St. Mary’s 13–6 vs. [24] Nevada – add this one to the ‘Pack’s list of troublesome losses vs. low–RPI teams
